Avonmouth Tavern

Picking a trailer up Saturday morning so parked on the industrial estate and had a walk into Avonmouth village. Quick pint in the Miles Arms…. very quiet pub…… then walked to the Avonmouth Tavern. Friday night is buzzing!! Wish I wasn’t 44 with face like a melted welly boot!!

What are you thinking man’?
You should be parked up in a lay by sat in your cab all night waiting for 9 hours to click over.
Going out socialising?..and having an alcoholic drink during the week? :open_mouth:
How irresponsible.

Nah just joking,.that’s the sort of crap you get on here from the self righteous who can not differentiate between having a quiet couple of pints wit a meal and getting rat arsed and driving next morning. :unamused:

Been in ‘The Miles’ many a time,.you get a good meal in there…don’t know about quiet, it’s always busy if there’s football on.
Also been in that one in the back street down from the Miles, but where is The Tavern’?
Is that the one heading down to the old dock entrance in the weight limit where you used to be able to park on the square (until the ■■■■ s blocked it off :imp: ) …if it is I always found it a bit rough tbh.

Yes mate that’s the one in the weight limit…. Is it a bit rough but there was a band on and a varying standards of eye candy to keep me interested!! I had a couple of pints as I wasn’t starting until 0800 today.

Nice easy day!!

Used to get a takeaway and get him to run us back to the trucks.

Ah the Avonmouth tavern,
My old stamping ground when growing up .
Like you said a bit rough & ready but sort of place once you go there a couple of times you will be welcomed warmly.
As for varying standards of eye candy I can assure you 90% of that so called eye candy ( your words not mine ) will have little eye candy’s at home being looked after by nanny and pappa trust me .
Seriously decent boozer though .

Watched Newcastltle beat Wolves on Friday night i :sunglasses: …in Avonmouth, not in the Tavern but The Miles Arms.
Rang ahead to order a meal to find they’ve stopped doing meals for a while :open_mouth: ,.I was gutted.
Still had a home made Kung Po Chicken in the fridge luckily.
Planned to have a walk down The Tavern after the game, but I was so shocked that we won, I forgot.

(At least the bar was a bit cheaper than the night before in Bridgwater…thanks to The Maoster and his fancy ‘Spanish Lager’ :unamused:  …a tenner for two pints ffs. :open_mouth:)

My pleasure mate. It’s an honour and privilege to find a man who still deals in ■■■■■■■■ Groats

Cheeky ■■■■■
Forgot to say the expensive top notch Spanish lager turned into 2 pints of bog standard lager when it was his round.
(Still Spanish, but El Cheapo was the brand. )
