China to the UK By Truck in 17 Days

Talking to a customer in my cab last night about the problems with the haulage industry, containers coming from China and the like.
Mentioned the train from China to the UK that started a few years ago (is that still running?) heard about that one but, then mentioned that they had also started bringing them from China to the UK by road now.

Wouldn’t mind giving it ago as long as the night out money was good

You folks complain about the traffic in this little island, you wouldnt last a day in shanghai

Can I take the road on the far left of the picture?

Would be interesting to know who will be driving them? Lo cost Mongolians maybe? Maybe it would be adventurous enough to get our Harry off the long boat and re visit old pastures? It would have interested me at one time but just wouldn’t be bothered these days unless it was mega bucks on offer which I’m sure it wouldn’t be.

Let’s give Carryfast a chance and see how he gets on.
17 days no chance
17 weeks possibly
17 months most likely - and no handball or warehouse duties either

I would imagine that any overland route from China to the UK would be impassable for at least four months a year.
