Ferry trailers

How do you get under the low ride ferry trailers with a UK standard height tractor unit? Often see them on the motorway with the trailer at a very jaunty angle and the rear underrun bar nearly dragging on the road. Running like that with all the weight sat on the 3rd trailer axle can’t be any good for the tyres or suspension either? :open_mouth: Do you have to wind the legs down 12" or so to get the front end high enough for the ramps or is there some other method?

It’s only the thick that do that as they are duel height 1100 and 950mm . Most will have duel fittings on the headboard palms and uk fittings using the uk fittings usually brings them to the 1100 heightbut for some reason many still use the palm converters or there will be a switch either on the headboard or by the raise lower handle usually the latter for some reason usually just says on or off.our truck have palm fittings so we use the connectors on the uk fittings if the trailer has both
