Level crossing near miss

bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-englan … t-by-train

I don’t get the connection between how a worker had any authority to ‘wave’ him across the crossing, with the lights and gates all working as normal and a train approaching this cluster zb at normal speed. If I was the driver of the truck I’d have told this ■■■■■■ to do one I’m going nowhere until the lights go off first.

Can’t deny that happening there’s concrete evidence

The worker wouldn’t have had any authority to wave him across and will probably have lost his job over it. Seeing as if the lorry didn’t get freed and reversed back it could have been a massive rail disaster with people dead.

i reckon he thought his advice was hard and fast with his judgement set in stone??

Why would you stop for a barrier anyway ? If you are daft enough to play with trains then why not go the whole hog and just press on?

‘Worker’…

Who’s worker? The railways worker, a worker from the site where matey boy was going, a worker sent by the mixer company?

If the site was across the line, why not just cross the lines in the normal manner? If the site was actually trackside then, I’m confident there would have been a TSR (temporay speed restriction) in place and the train would have been doing about 20mph.

Someone’s seriously ■■■■■■ up with this one.

Oh no, I might damage the barrier. I’ll just sit here while this train crushes me to death.

Obviously an absolute ■■■■ in the first place but ■■■■ the bed this is a whole new level or tard.
