AA Relay

Anybody on here drive the recovery trucks for the AA? A fella has just left there to come and drive for us as a tramper, and says the AA is terrible. I’m just wondering what went wrong with it, it used to be talked of as a dead mans shoes job.

last guy who came to rescue me loved it said it was the best job he had ever had! even to the point of going down the route of telling me how to apply etc.

this was last year mind so maybe its changed.

its like any other job , like it loath it .

some drivers just don’t like the company when driving , doing recovery with some old bint that sits behind you that ■■■■■ and smells of Oder de Toilet water for a few hours would drive me nuts and then you get the knob who knows all about how the car could have be repaired at the road side as his mate did a full gearbox change out side his house :unamused:

I’ll stay to trunking on me to thank you

If you are a young bloke you used to get a lot of female students on their way to and from uni in older cars prone to breaking down.

I’ve seen relay driver jobs advertised a lot nationally and in my area, so I suppose that speaks volumes.

I thought I was reading something from Toby with that statement.

I moved off C+E and became an AA recovery driver early in the year. Best move I ever made, it’s actually a pleasure working for a company that treats you like a human being. Not to mention that every job is happy to see you, whatever the time. Wish I’d done it years ago.

I guess it doesn’t suit everyone though.

The company became a PLC this year and started recruiting more patrols, so no, I don’t think that speaks volumes.
