You’re applying good common sense again Peterm.
Nothing makes any sense any more does it, you wonder what its all about what do they hope to gain, what sort of utopian (hell) future do they think they are constructing for themselves to rule over, its not until you realise that it isn’t supposed to and it was never intended to make any sense.

I dont get it. when in the 80’s and 90’s it seemed they were hell bent on turning this country into america and probably before that in some ways. then they had an about turn now it seems they want to turn itinto russia/ussr

Once went someware they had a self.driving forklift .
Was a huge thing maybe 6ft tall 4 ft wide solid piece of metal with forks attached

It trundeled up and down the warehouse placing the pallet in a square box near the warehouse door.
Then a real forklift loaded my truck.

I try not to worry about it too much cos we’ll always have turkeys voting for Christmas.

Whilst it’s a risk for jobs that I don’t doubt. I dont see driverless trucks going through towns and unloading themselves at the local supermarket or small business. There will always be a need for humans at some point.

Thing is these millennials /snowflakes or what ever there called . Ie youngsters.
I’d say 3/4 of them won’t do a bit of manual work or work in supermarket production lines etc.
Then rather live off bank of mum and dad.
Or work someware where they can do as little as possible while checking Facebook all the time .
The great British worker /grafter is long gone these days and is a sad state of affairs.

And if we don’t automate things were possible then nothing will get done eventually.
Just they way life’s going I’m afraid

Did nobody learn anything from Terminator ?
