2.5 billion a year to house migrants

If my math is ok then 7 million a day is about 2.5 billion a year in migrant accommodation costs :open_mouth:
UK is about 60 billion in the red so that cost is certainly not helping

It’s all there in the Kalergi plan and UN agenda 30.Which the government has openly stated as official immigration policy.
All imposed by the racist card being played against any dissent.
So here we are a small Island with a population density more than twice that of France being told that we need more immigration here draining our resources.
Also it’s our responsibility to financially support, house and feed and appease Asia’s and Africa’s over population problem.China included.

I seem to remember that when we first started paying France to stop the illegal migrants it was touted as the solution but the problem has only gotten worse, I can’t see an extra £8,000000 a year making much of a difference, though I suppose having Brits over there checking may help.

All this talk about people trafficking seems to be fake, most, if not all of the migrants, are economic migrants plain and simple.

edit: Corrected typo of “bits” that should have read Brits.

That is annually, and easily solved. *
It’s the £2.5Trillion debt that we already have that’s a problem.

Fix it yourself with the @Telegraph’s tool here: telegraph.co.uk/business/ec … umn-budget

So the French claim they stop X amount crossing the channel
Hmmm …
What happens to that X amount

They try again tomorrow or next week :frowning:

Nothing is going to be done about this, the alleged govt have pre booked dozens more hotels for the whole of 2023.
Still while everyone’s arguing about a 50 thousand strong illegals being ferried in at our expense the near enough half a million or so a year supposed legals carry on arriving as they did all during the lockdown farce, this country isn’'t just financially bankrupt we have morally bankrupt govts.

The UK could have kept the Calais processing centre open and dealt with asylum seekers there but in their wisdom did not.
The UK could have kept the Dublin agreement in respect of returning migrants but in their wisdom did not .
According to the Home Office, the UK is spending £5.6m on accommodating asylum seekers in hotels. It is spending a further £1.2m a day to temporarily house Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban.
The Tories let Truss and Kwakbaccy stiff the UK for around 30 billion with their antics, taking the debt to around 70 Billion.
Fiscal drag will see each of you paying around 2000 extra to cover this debt.
Stupid Brexit isn’t helping.

Exactly = so nobody really gets stopped from crossing

Britain just keeps on giving.

It’s obvious that they are prepared to cross the Channel after crossing Europe because they are offered/given more by the UK government than France is offering them.

Britain just keeps on giving.

To the point where our own are being evicted from their parental rented homes that theyve lived in all their lives.Because landlords can earn more by filling those homes with multiple immigrant families on asylum benefits.

Which is the problem it’s got nothing to do with France stopping anything or anyone.

That’s incorrect. There is a much better social security and support system here. The Tories are gutting the systems there.

gov.uk/government/statistic … %20decades.

In 2021
UK had… 48,540 asylum applications.

Germany, France (and since 2018) Spain have more applications.
They aren`t “all coming over here”. Most stay in mainland Europe.
Those who do choose to continue on to the UK likely have reasons such as family already here.

In 2021 72% of initial asylum requests were granted. About three quarters are genuine, not economic migrants.

UK laws say asylum seekers cannot work.
That is why they are supported by UK taxpayers.

Because the system is broken it is taking months and years for decisions to be made.
(Follow the link, under 50k applications in a year, but 125k waiting decisions)
If a bit more effort was spent up front, then decisions could be made quicker, and there would be many fewer in temporary accommodation.

Get the paperwork done, and then they can either be sent away, or allowed to get a job and pay taxes as part of the society of the UK.

There is no real legal way for asylum seekers to enter the UK.

Asylum seekers cant realistically go into British embassy in an oppressive country to ask for asylum. (How would the Taliban look at that?!) Ferry and air companies wont sell tickets to asylum seekers. They would be responsible if an illegal migrant arrived in the UK. It isnt their job to decide who does/doesnt have a valid claim.

As Owen has said if the UK had an office in Calais, for instance, then applications could be examined there. That would put traffickers out of business overnight.

The fact that they’d prefer to risk their lives to cross the Channel to a country with a population density of 281 per km2 and resources being depleted to match, v staying in France with a population density of 119 per km2 says otherwise.
Bearing in mind that there are plenty of ‘safe’ regions within the African and Asian continents safe enough to be considered holiday destinations.
Why the supposed need to bring those originating on those continents here to Europe.

Our Home Secretary, Suella Braverman has appeard before the Home Affairs Select Committee.

She was clear that her predecessors, including herself for a brief while, were not to blame for the present poor state of affairs.
Illegal immigration, over crowding, slow processing, is the fault of immigrants and people smugglers.
Quite so.
If a Fire Brigade has no hoses nor water, it isn`t their fault that the house burns down. It is the fault of the discarded ■■■ end.

Anyway here is a shorter Max R video with question from Tory MP Tim Laughton,

And a longer clip (10 mins) with no need for comments, showing Braverman floundering repeatedly as she demonstrates she hasn`t got a clue about her job

Of course she wont be blaming any former Home Sec for ■■■■ ups. She doesnt want to get the blame for her ■■■■ ups.
Bet she will take all the praise going if owt does go according to plan though.

Pleased to hear that the overcrowding problem at Manston has now been solved. But, seeing as it was intended to house 2000 immigrants, why the need to empty it completely? Oh, that’s right, there are much more comfortable hotel rooms available for them around the country. And our own homeless are left sleeping on the streets at night. Perhaps some of them might like a trip to Kent instead of a shop doorway where the next kicking might only be minutes away.

It is sickening! We need to remove the civil service and these leftist fake Tories from number 10.
I remember one family on my entire estate were Indian, a real nice family as well. Now it is the reverse and not a friendly time to be in the same estate…
People who want more want a good dry bumming!
