Car cloning.

Car cloning is on the rise since more & more ULEZ, CAZ’s are being implemented around the country.
“The latest data we sourced from Transport for London (TfL) shows an 857% increase in the number of penalty charge notices (PCNs) being cancelled due to the car being a clone in April compared to a year ago, and a 631% increase since the ultra-low emission zone (ULEZ)”

One youtuber who lives on Orkney had his Kia e-Niro cloned & he kept getting PCN’s over a few months from London which he’d never been to in his car :open_mouth:
Apparently it’s a right royal PITA & time consuming to get it sorted out as it’s up to the original owner to provide proof of time of day your car was etc when the PCN was issued :open_mouth:

It’s obviously a police matter not an LEZ one.
A cloned car is obviously also uninsured running on false reg plates.
That obviously removes the responsibility on the legitimate owner to prove anything regarding an emissions zone penalty subject to police investigations.
It sounds more like a revenue raising scam by the Zone operations because they aren’t raising enough funds from compliant vehicles and people avoiding them by using our of town routes.

Of course! It all makes sense now.
Councils in London, obviously needing cash, are sending fines and demands out to the Scottish Isles, thereby keeping more votes at home, and gaining money.
Im truly amazed the commie/fascist EU storm-commissars havent copied that plan, and sent their stinking Brussels tax demands to the residents of Kent.

To be fair based on the laughable premise that the Scottish owner is guilty of the offence and must prove their innocence.Merely explaining I wasn’t there it must be someone else running on bent plates obviously won’t cut it.
Also bearing in mind the question why wouldn’t the council then tear up the penalty and refer the matter to the police.IE evidence of a vehicle running on bent plates that by implication is also being driven without insurance. At that point it’s no longer an EZ penalty matter.
It doesn’t add up.
