Better tell Nicola that it’s a UK-wide scheme, not just a Scottish one, seeing as she’s declared her intention to continue her quest for independence. Might not get the funding if Scotland goes it alone.

But would retain any benefits accrued presumably. £20 million is not that much to find annually so, if it is such a good risk, may well be worth pursuing simply as a Scottish project.
By the government’s own figures at best Tidal energy would only meet 20% of requirements.
It’s also uneconomic and has serious flaws.
