EV sales Booming year on year

Sales of electric/plug in cars are booming in UK/EU markets year on year with diesel cars sales numbers falling off a cliff, Is the tipping point getting nearer over ICE vehicle?, The number of electric cars registered in the UK – as of the end of August 2021 there were more than 600,000 plug-in vehicles with nearly 300,000 BEVs and 300,000 PHEVs registered. Last year saw the biggest annual increase in number of registrations, with more than 175,000 electric vehicles registered showing a growth of 66% on 2019. Last year, despite the coronavirus impact, the chart showed that 2020 was a huge growth year for plug-in vehicles. :open_mouth:

Are we going to see a Road Pricing scheme sooner rather than later as the treasury is now looking at a £40billion shortfall from road tax duties based on emissions :open_mouth: fleetnews.co.uk/news/compan … scheme-now

The USA were the ICE pick up truck reigns supreme is also in for big changes with the Ford F-150 Lightening EV getting more than 130,000 reservations as soon as it was revealed :open_mouth: They will be starting deliveries Spring 2022 & the rental car company Hertz has just ordered 100,000 Tesla model 3’s for it’s fleet this morning :open_mouth: As Bob Dylan sang the times they are a changing.

Until the first and last major nuclear disaster if people don’t realise the true costs of fuelling an EV before that.
While if it was true the bottom would obviously have already fallen out of the market for ICE powered vehicles.I’ll have a new 6 cylinder petrol Range Rover for peanuts thanks.
Also why would the government need to use public cash to provide scrappage grant incentives.

It will come as a shock, to no-one awake, that lab rats respond to the stimuli applied.
Possibly the nudge units so favoured by our current Bunter Junta (other failing nations have their own versions) have had some input on what will get them responding as required.

You’d think that people would have learned by now what happens when they follow instructions, Diesel cars the obvious previous for this, but then they vote for the same identical rabble every time whilst expecting a different result.

I need a car now my car licence is finally back and if I had the money I’d go electric. Alas I don’t have the money so it’ll probably be an asthmatic 20 year old Nissan Micra. I’ll look so cool.

Windscale was just a warning it wasn’t the Brit version of Chernobyl.
The ‘climate’ useful idiots really are deluded if they think that their crusade could withstand the type of backlash caused by people being forced to leave their homes with nowhere safe to run and massive food shortages caused by agricultural land being wiped out in a country this small and densely populated.
No doubt Great Thunderfart and all her useful idiot followers like Bozo will make their excuses and denials telling us that it was a price worth paying to solve a problem that exists only in their heads.

There’s a Pro-Nuclear movement going on with France being the leading player wanting Nuclear power signed into the green deal as a “Green” low emission energy, To get government finance or tender for government contracts nowadays you have to have the greenest credentials. Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia want to have nuclear reclassified as a “green” energy as they wont be able to decarbonise their energy sector before the given time lines which will incur financial penalties. euractiv.com/section/energy … -taxonomy/

That’s really good news, hopefully the lorry stamps won’t be far behind.

So long as you don’t use the word old when describing the Micra, and instead call it ‘retro’, the cool factor will be strong.

Personally i’d be looking out for an Aygo/C1/107, probably the best small car after the Toyota Starlet ever made, 1.0 litre 3 pot is better than you might imagine so long as it get an oil change now and again and very good on fuel, £30 max VED some years free VED, plus very good at rust resistance.
But down there in the back of beyond don’t suppose there’s a world of car choice.

Chernobyl 30 direct deaths.
Fukushima no direct deaths.
Aberfan 116 children and 28 adults.

Hertz Europe have ordered 100,000 Tesla.
Company now above the $1 trillion level.

People who bought PHEV’s have now lost their discount in the ULEZ so bet they are glad they made that choice

Like your idea of democracy it all depends on who is counting the figures and how.
Aberfan was an isolated needless incident which had been predicted by locals, but ignored by the type of Socialist scum, in the form Lord Robens and his handlers, who covered up Chernobyl’s true effects.
The difference is unlike Chernobyl it didn’t make most/all of Wales an uninhabitable wasteland and what’s the difference between direct or indirect deaths the point is they are all caused by the same disaster.

It’s only a matter of time until the ‘green’ useful idiots realise they’ve been sold a wind powered lie while the rest are melons red on the inside not green at all.

If you read between the lines of all this decarbonisation of private car transport it keeps harking back to people transitioning from cars to public transport because they want to kill two birds with one stone & get rid of congestion at the same time. The budget has lots of funds available for public transport & active travel transport. PHEV’s have a stay of execution until 2035 but there’s a caveat with that! From 2025 onwards they’re going to have to be able to travel 50 miles on electric power alone, The very best PHEV’s at the moment can do 30-32 miles, It will be a huge step up to do 50 miles on electric power as who will sink money into development of that tech with such a short life span?.

Are we in for a Winter of discontent & yellow vests? especially in the EU, “France risks losing one in four auto jobs as the country struggles to keep pace with the rapid transition to electric vehicles.” "The French auto industry — home of the Peugeot, Citroen and Renault car brands — could see as many as 100,000 of its 400,000 jobs lost in the next decade as the era of combustion engines ends, according to Luc Chatel, head of auto lobby La Plateforme Automobile. Germany, Spain Italy wont be far behind especially motor suppliers. todaynewspost.com/auto-news/fra … roup-says/

12,000 deaths in London alone from smog in the fifties.
