Too Much Money

He’s the UK got too much money?
Or is our leader after throwing away money we don’t have on another vanity project?
theguardian.com/uk-news/202 … p-of-state
Or is it just a diversion to take attention away from…well, take your choice?
Does it matter if it’s never built anyway?
The failed London Garden Bridge took £43million in public money under Johnson’s mayoralty. 43million quid for nowt.
How much already spend on Northern Ireland bridge, or tunnel, or roundabout plans?
Still maybe it’ll be a "mate’s rates deal?
We get to pay his mates extra for crap.

Chill out Franglais,.don’t get yer Knicks in a twist mate, we can afford it. :bulb:
We’re a rich country, who can stand this sort of thing, especially with the money we save that used to subsidise and/or go down the metaphorical khazi that is the EU. :open_mouth: :sunglasses:
We should call this flagship of the UK…HMS Brexit. :bulb:

Don’t know if you’re aware, but we ain’t in it anymore and when all the Covid ■■■■■■■■ is over, Boris and his posse intend to make us prosper, …Things are looking up at last. :sunglasses:

There you go fill yer boots,.that post has everything for you and your strange friend Mr Kloss, to get your Hampsteads into… :sunglasses:
Praise for Boris.
Positivity for the future post Brexit.
The EU.

None of them have ever had a moment’s hesitation at ■■■■■■■ money…they haven’t had to earn, indeed they borrowed for us and our children to pay off including vast sums of interest to their backers…up the wall at whatever vanity or politically advantageous farce at any point in time suits them.

Govts do not have any money, their only income is what they borrow in our name or take from every business transaction and every working person (with a net contributing worth ie not subsidised by the rest of us) by force with menaces, its is not government money it is net taxpayers money.

Might be interesting to try and work out just how much of your gross pay you pay back one way or another into the govt’s coffers, i’ve said it before the state is not your friend, at best it assumes you are a useful idiot and when you have served your purpose you are forgotten…or in some cases ie socialist systems disposed of in case you might become someone else’s useful idiot or you might see through it all one day and reveal where the bodies are buried.

But you’ve obviously got no problem with a captive market for EDF nuclear power at 16p per kwh + 5% VAT, let alone road fuel duty + 20% VAT.That’s obviously a lot more cash for the government than 5% on 2.5 p gas or 20% VAT on petrol.
You seem to be selective in your ‘worries’ about who is going to pay for it all and how.

A “captive market”…W T actual F !

Because the UK has no longer got, through a series of inept governments, of different colours, the capacity to generate our own electricity…(WTF happened to market forces there?!)… those that are able to profit from our politicians` failures are to blame?
.
Please explain how those who, for a fee admittedly*, allow YOU to get electricity are to blame?

  • I mean you wouldnt want our fellow humans NOT to profit would you? That would be a bit too *communistic* wouldnt it?

We’re sitting on a mountain of coal and we’re increasing oil and gas production. You know the oil that provides us with 12p per kwh including road fuel duty and 20% VAT and the gas which provides us with 3p per kwh including 5% VAT.
But you want to stop us using it to make us dependent on French nuclear power at 16p per kwh + VAT and road fuel duty.
That’s what I call a captive market and WTF.
You didn’t answer the question how are we going to pay for it.

In my favourite film with Michael Douglas called Falling Down , as an officer worker who goes on a mental breakdown rampage, after getting hold of weapons and a RPG , he asked the road worker why are you digging up the road and it takes ages to finish causing traffic jams, the road worker replied that the works don’t need doing but the government/local council are just paying for it to get rid of too much money.

If you have ever come up against ‘computer says no’ or ‘it’s not company policy’, the scene where an UZI changes the attitude of the Burger restaurant manager is very satisfying.
