Diagnosing and treatment on the nhs for cancer is and always has been pot luck. If your lucky enough to get diagnosed in time that they can do something your stuck with your local hospital. All this 2 week pathway doesn’t mean anything its just a guide line. I know there is patients choice for doctors and hospitals but by the time you get that far your too ill to travel.
My mother is lucky She has friends in the right places that know who to shout at but being in rural wales if they hadn’t of sorted her a bed she she would of had to travel 2.5 hours each way for her radio therapy. Now she has incontinence and diarrhea because of the meds she is on… their solution go buy Imodium from the pharmacy and drink plenty. She cant get home help from the local council because no one covers her area. McMillan said well you haven’t been hospitalized so you don’t count. However a friend of hers was hospitalized and McMillan said well your in hospital you don’t need any help.
