Seems pretty clear to me that smokers cost more than they pay in tax.

Try looking at what private health insurance companies really offer and exclude in the real world. Chronic disease is often time limited. Get ill. Stop work and soon ypull be back on the NHS. Private insurance does have a place (unfortunately) but you wont get a life long policy, for the money you pay on tobacco.

i have looked at private insurance and the only real stipulation i have is i cant claim for a back injury in s4 - s5 for the next two years. the monthly cost of the policy is a lot less than the increase in tobacco price never mind what the tax on it before was.
