Good Morning All, I have a question about HGV Medical - does this have to be taken on your birthday, or is there a period of time before hand when you can take it, eg 3 months before expiry, and the date will still run for 5 years from your birthday? I seem to remember I did this last time but none of the usual searches have turned up a straight answer. Tried asking the Doctors and they don’t know either.

Your licence runs until the expiry date(s) on the back. A few weeks before this, DVLA will send you the renewal pack - that is when you need to get your medical done. Your actual birthday is irrelevant.
