Has anybody got photos of UK low rides?CBC
Supposedly the very first in the U.K.:
J120 PBW Volvo FL10 by 240 Gardner, on Flickr
Although it wasn’t actually quite as low as the production F10s and F12s that followed:
I believe that J193 MCM was the first true production Volvo ‘Mega’ tractor in the U.K. When it first entered service, the correctly-sized tyres were still not on the market, and there were slight issues concerning tyres coming into contact with the underside of the trailer deck. Amazingly, it is still in use today as the M.O.T. shunter at Preston depot, having been in that role for at least 12 years. Not many fitters’ units survive that long!

one of those low ride F-Series with a globetrotter would be a good find to restore.

It even survived me jockeying it - for that alone it deserves all the luck it gets!!

I often see this wagon around Preston. Still a good looking motor and a credit to Bowkers.

The Merc was sold recently i think, the scania is a nice thing and the trailer is a special piece of kit, extends to 65ft and has platforms at either side that drop on hydraulics to lower the overall height when moving twin units ( the ones with plastic on one side).
does this count? not sure if its still working, it was until recently
ill see if i have any more
