The clock is ticking

Depends where you live, I mean Bo’ness is out in the sticks a bit, although isn’t there a Bakavor food factory up there, I would say drving out of there would be a cushty number. Agency work is always going to be hit and miss and i’ve always said you should only do it if you don’t rely on a set amount of money coming in each week, it’s ideal for semi-retired folk who just wan to keep their hand in and top up the pension but if you’ve got afamily to feed…

there is a production place in bo’ness but they dont run their own trucks. M&S/GIST collect the loads. thats why i need a car though. most of my work is with tesco in livingston or co-op harthill or ■■■■■■■■■■■■ i do bump into quite a few of our lads in tesco and they are all saying the same thing. 3 shifts per week

Scanny and othe Scots can sign up for an Individual Learning Account. Its worth £200 per annum so would cover the full cost of this C.P.C. nonsense.

Wish you success in your move, Richie. Take care!
Alex

thanks for the support guys

i knew i would be leaving the industry but i had intended carrying on as a hobby but under the circumstances, if i have a full time job i would be taking work from other drivers who are relying on it for an income and i am not prepared to do that.

Kenny, if south gyle isnt too far then by all means get in touch. i am looking for a job on the night shift which starts in january and if i get it i will be responsible for hiring and firing within my own team. im bound to have dead weight to get rid of so i will be looking for good staff who are prepared to work for a living

ha thats rich! your leaving your job because of lack of work starting a new job then putting people out off work that know the job better than you?! you really have got big ideas on your own self worth have’nt you :open_mouth: on the brighter side you will be 1 less too worry about ripping my mirrors off or forcing me into the verge on the lochaber/argyll roads :grimacing: :sunglasses:

there is nothing i like better than someone having a dig at me and falling flat on their faces. 10 out of 10 on that one

There’s always dead weight, so remember when you look at your new team and can’t spot it that makes you the dead weight. :unamused:

ha ha aye maybe so but when you fall flat on your face you’ll be the 1 without a job :grimacing:

 good luck with virgin job what you goiing to be doing

i have been doing hobby driving to get experience, would not worry to much about taking income of the full time drivers. :unamused:

i am near the bottom of what the agengy call the reserve list, when they have had the knock back from the full time guys they seem to call me

absolutely agree

Kiw. gaining experience isnt the same as taking work from someone else for the sake of it. you have something to gain whereas i would be taking a wage from someone who needs it more than i do. im not going to do that. im moving into customer services

Will there be room on your desk for the nameplate? :stuck_out_tongue:

PS. Virgin and customer service, not words you usually see together. Well, not in a positive way.

i think i have only used that once in the past few months. tesco dont allow them and as they are my main source of income at the moment, it never gets used. i might need a new one made up saying WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING IN AN OFFICE?

i got a cunning plan

Its a fact Santa. Im an OD and Ive been undercut by these so called muppets. I Know the rates that they are working for because i have good inside information. Theres plenty of work for the man thats willing to work for nothing. And now theyre whinging and moaning that they can`t make it pay. Tough [zb] i say.

If your inside info was that good, then the source would make things happen for you.

If you’re over 17 you’re too old for customer services at Virgin Media :open_mouth:

But while you’re there could you tell them to stop capping my connection speed :grimacing:

the sad thing is that they get the same rate of pay as i do on days with none of the overheads, responsibilities, regulations and threat from the authorities. plus they get benefits and bonuses etc including the full package for £10 per month. no wonder so many drivers are planning to chuck it in before 2014. as much as i love driving artics, it just isnt worth the hassle any more. i resented having to pay for the digicard, not because of the cost but because of the principle. there is no way i am going to accept the drivers CPC. it is going to cost the industry a lot of drivers

Well, at least you’re putting your money where your mouth is , and that’s more than a lot will do come 2014, who are threatening to leave

Good Luck Richie
