A Citroen T 60 with sleepercab hauling English products…

Two points-I note that it appears to be registered in Paris but the company seems to be based in Le Mans. I wonder why?

Also that bumper looks familiar, but not on a Citroen. I think its off a Mercedes. Or am I wrong?

Good question. This one has the same bumper:

Maybe they shared that part with Mercedes? Which Mercedes model were you thinking of?

Or perhaps I am simply wrong! Wouldn’t be the first time.

Its cab was manufactured by Heuliez, an important coachbuilder near Poitiers. Yes indeed, the basic colour for types 23.50 and 55 Citroën trucks was a kind of “mid-green”, as was blue Saviem’s colour! Other colours must have needed a little more investment…

Launched in 1965, the new range of front cab ,design from Bertoni ( Traction and DS) and Opron (GS and SM).

I thought there was a spelling mistake, but no- Bertoni was responsible for the shape of the DS, arguably a superior vehicle designer than his Italian not-quite-namesake: with the DS, it was more than styling, given that its shape placed it far ahead of the crowd in terms of wind drag. Apologies, M. Michel, for doubting even one letter of your post!

Anorak, you could translate, it’s from Wikipedia : 'Dessinée par le sculpteur et designer italien Flaminio Bertoni '…

Aha- they’re both Italian. Thank you for the clarification! I was confusing him with Bertone, who drew a few other cars.

Who knows more about this one?

Who knows more about this one?

Hello  This halftrack motor vehicle is clearly an American-built Autocar,or Diamond,or White ex-military halftrack motor vehicle of World War Two,and looks

to be operated in Civvy Street somewhere in Post War France - many American and Allied Forces ex-military vehicles of World War Two ended up in Civvy Street

in France after the war doing all kinds of work. And a large proportion of these motor vehicles have now been restored and preserved as WW2 Military Vehicles  While

others have been renovated as Civvy Street motor vehicles

Four American motor truck manufacturers,Autocar,Diamond T,International and White, built these halftracks for the American military. The Autocar,Diamond T and White

models looked virtually identical to each other - the International halftracks had thinner section front wings and the corners of their bodies were slightly

more rounded.

All four marques of halftrack were built as motorcars= Armoured Personnel Carriers, freight transporters,SP = Self Propelled Weapons, gun carriages, etc. There were

about 70 halftrack variants.

The Gondrand halftrack has been modified for its civilian application.

And here is a restored and preserved White M16 Halftrack  Many American halftracks were operated by the Israeli military in the Post War years.

Couple of old French scenes

Thanks for these last batches. Some pictures I never seen and are very interesting!

And bring back memories. Le Cirque Pinder for instance. They had so many interesting vehicles and machinery. And, I understand, a few circus acts too!

Hello Paul…hope you’re well and keeping safe…i’ve always liked the bonneted wagons, although never drove one…and they old photos of French village, life with a lorry, van or coach thrown in…I’ve got a batch of Pinder and other circus and fun fair wagons, I’ll post up later.
There was a circus in a town near us a couple of years ago, they had a fleet of newish bonneted American wagons and 2 older cab overs, looked the buisness, but I didnt have had a camera with me…unlike the UK circuses, the French tend to use more modern vehicles.
