I just couldn’t be arsed climbing in & out of it but then I am a lazy bleeder.

Until somebody turns off the battery master switch while your tucked up in bed
the main selling point of the Renault (even by Renault salesmen) is, it is a Volvo driveline
doesn’t really say much for the rest of the truck now does it?
if they have to sell them on another companies product, how bad must the rest of the truck be?

Watched a fella on you tube do a tour of his Magnum and he said if the fuse blows when your curtains down you can’t get them back up
The one we had was ok but was a total waste of time inside no storage nothing but i didnt drive the thing anyway when i bought that maggie Harry i only paid 2k more than the one you are looking at and that was just over 2 yrs old!! 07 plate with 176,kms on it from new■■? so i thinks its a tad expensive for a old wobble box on wheels, plus i think the truck you have put up have a cpl of these aswell
One of the most unique and eye catching trucks until the new Actros came along. Stepdad used to drive one for Pollocks, said it was nice enough but the cab felt cramped for a week away.

The storage space issue isn’t without some truth, but I’ve been away for 2 weeks in one (6 day wait in the south of Spain!!) & found it fantastic, like so many trucks the top bunk can be used to store your ‘stuff’!! Not driven one with the Volvo driveline but I thought the Mac engined version to be well up to the job.
I really liked it.
Ross.
Have a Mack engined one running Spain and find the storage ok as masses of room under bottom bunk and side wardrobe great for hanging shirts, fuel economy is way ahead of the Actros I had a couple of years ago.
Having read the favourable reviews, I am considering a Magnum more than I was. The one on ebay looks ideal, I don’t know if it sold or not but I have asked the seller to let me know if it’s still available.
I can’t commit myself to anything until my O licence materialises but if it does in the near future I’ll hop on a train and go have a look.
i know someone just bough 57 plate 500 euro 5 355000 kms on clock
new mot discs pads etc from mercs andover had two in on part ex
paid 25k
in 2 years still get around 10k on export at least so cheap truck
im gonna look at another in few months to replace euro3 scania
One thing also to bear in mind with a magnum is that (usually) they are owned by small fleets or owner drivers so should (in theory) be better looked after. However I have known 1 or 2 owner drivers not to give a flying &^%$ about vehicle maintenance!

How many miles /km has your Volvo, scania,Renault, daf, merc done ,just interested to know how many miles ,km they can do until they die,I know a guy who had a 1994 Volvo 380 that had over 2 million miles done and still pulling well, thanks.
It looks like my O licence is going to be granted, although I’m not expecting it to be until the end of the month. In the meantime, I’ll get my Driver CPC out of the way.
Just another quick question, was there a date when Magnum production changed from euro 4 to euro 5 or was there a period where both were available? The one I posted to originally, here ebay.co.uk/itm/270962946625? … 860wt_1344 is an 08 reg 500DXI and has an Ad Blue system, would this necessarily be euro 5 or could it be either?
I had thought that Ad Blue meant euro 5 but am seeing euro 4 trucks with Ad Blue for sale?
Don’t know about the ad blue thing Harry, why the hold up whith your licence I submitted mine on Friday past and was told it should take 4weeks and as you told me I wrote a cover letter stating no truck yet and he said that was fine ,thanks for that.
My application is in northern Ireland though ,a bit different over here but all will change on the 1st of July ,then all will be the same as rest of uk.

It was delayed firstly because they wouldn’t accept my financial evidence until I had opened a bank account in my Limited Company name, and secondly because they made an error when submitting it to the TC and so it was rejected. That’s all been sorted out now, and I have just had to agree to one condition regarding access to the operating centre, and to submit further bank statements once I’ve started trading.
Four weeks seems quick, even when I applied they were quoting 8-9 weeks (it’s been 10 weeks now and looks like taking another 2-3)
I had a brand spanker on RPL in 2004, 440 Mack engine version.
I was dragged kicking and screaming from an Alto Cab Eurostar, and i hated it and everything about it(the Magnum)…
Until I actually drove it that was. Talk about judge a book by its National Express Coach looking exterior! It was a cracking bit of kit, never let us down and used to get 8’s pulling 15’3 trailers at max weight.
Would I have another one, ■■■■ right I would!!!
