My next door neighbour was killed in a Beresfords motor in the early to mid 70s. I do believe I’ve asked the question before, or was it just a common thing?

John Rogers.

I grew up with his 3 daughters. I heard quite terrible things about the accident.

image.jpegive met Fred ,can’t think why or where though .

I really expected to see more pictures of Longtons gear on here, great picture nevertheless

I’m going back to the 1950’s-60s now, but does anyone remember a Mr Davies, who had a small yard next to the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Mount Pleasant, Shelton ?
He ran some real old motors, one being an ex army Bedford O series, fitted with a pantechnicon body.
Another one was a Vulcan SWB tipper, which was ex Thomas Boulton Merseyside copper works, Widnes.
The livery was a real eye catching metallic copper finish.
In his spare time, he helped out in the local newsagents, which was across the street from his yard !
Most of his work was moving waste from the local pottery factories.

John
