General Election 2017

shirtbox2003:
The culprit for all this upheavel is that (zb) Farage, things were bubbling along till this joker got folks listening to his dribble,

Confirmation that May’s agenda and her vote is actually all about derailing Brexit and putting UKIP out of the frame as part of that ?.Strange but no surprise that you obviously see the LibCon coalition as having been better than UKIP holding the balance of power with the Cons would be.

Let’s hope we follow the French example and completely reject left wing politics :bulb:

I’ve not kept up with news usually to save the tele from a brick through it.Does that mean Le Pen is doing ok.

As for right v left it all depends on your definition of left and the FN is as left as it gets in my book. While if you’re saying Nationalist v Federalist/Socialist May isn’t even on the radar in being just another establishment plant like Heath and Thatcher.Nor,unlike France,do we even have a true Nationalist choice with Farage predictably showing his true colours.

Edit to add I wouldn’t call a vote of almost 7,000,000 for Melenchon and more than 2 million for Hamon a ‘complete rejection’ of the Socialists. :open_mouth: Or over 7,000,000 for Fillon let alone over 8,000,000 for Macron a rejection of the same old establishment politics there in general.Bearing in mind that she’ll only realistically take on the Aignan vote in the secondaries she’s probably toast. It’s like here the electorate votes for the same old establishment and expects a different result. :frowning:

Going by the 2016 victories of sensibilities, even if LePen by some miracle wins the second round there’s no knowing if she’ll keep her word any more than current British or US winners have.

ie Cameron’s cast iron     pledge to carry out the will of the people’s referendum just before running off with his tail between his spindly legs, May’s regular assurances of no early election and that after 10 months of fudging article 50, Trump’s promise to keep out of the middle east (apart from destroying ISIS), how’s that lot working out so far :unamused:
One can only hope LePen is a woman of her word, we or rather the French, if they have enough sense to save their own country, won’t know till it happens.

With the vast vast majority of politicians, when their lips are moving lies are spewing forth.

If LePen gets in,the EU is finished,so there is no “if” about it,she won’t be allowed to win!

More Zimbabwe/UK style voting and ballot box juggling you reckon?

The scary bit is those figures for the Socialist vote holding up there are probably all too real. :open_mouth: At least unless around 6 million votes for Le Pen got counted as being for Melenchon and another 5 million or so counted for Fillon all then to be added to Macron’s in the secondaries. Not to mention probably a ‘few’ more million going missing in the turnout figure.

I often think that of the general public can run the country, football teams etc.

But
Bloke went onto a pub early doors and only him and the landlord were there so they were having a chat and the bloke says " Why don’t we have a chat about something?"

Landlord " That sounds good what about ?"

Bloke.“Poltics ?”

Landlord " Not likely, causes fights in here"

Bloke " What about ■■■ then?"

Landlord "That would be good "

Bloke " What do you think of Jeremy Corbyn " !!!

Nail and head comes to mind!!

The return of Zac Goldsmith seems a bit strange.

Let’s get this right. He stands on an anti Heathrow expansion and a pro Brexit ticket. The Cons then decide to go back on their promise not to expand Heathrow thereby making Goldsmith’s position untenable.

Then the LibDems win the seat on a remain ticket and in total contradiction with any principle of being so called democrats in not being prepared to accept a democratic referendum result.

Then the Cons re select him to stand again. In the knowledge that the Richmond Park electorate will vote the same way and that May has deliberately chosen to dissolve a perfectly functioning government rather than deliver on the promise to carry out the democratic decision of hard Brexit.

Then Boris Johnson obviously decides to have a go at Corbyn while saying nothing about the anti democratic actions of the LibDems regarding Brexit.Go figure.

The only explanation being that selecting Goldsmith’s remainer rival would have blown her obvious plan of dissolving her government to help the remain agenda not strengthen the Brexit one.Bearing in mind that Brexit already had the supposedly supreme authority of a referendum vote based on a clear hard Brexit manifesto, which the Cons had ‘promised’ to deliver.

CF old mate, the day we ‘won’ the referendum i wonder how many of us deep in our hearts knew they’d find some devious way to reign it back in.
As dodgy dave minced off like the angry little girl it is, the scene in downing street a portent of yet another tory con job in the making.

They can’t help betraying our country, comes naturally to them it’s what they do, why people keep voting for traitors time after time i can’t understand, i’d rather stick needles in me eyes than give those swine my vote, maybe the electorate thinks if they vote yet again for them that this time for once in their rotten lives they will find some honour…no, they won’t, and i doubt they could spell the word let alone ever live up to its definition.

Do you think the electorate qualify for the nut house yet? isn’t repeating the same action time and again and still after all that has gone before expecting a different result :unamused: , isn’t that the very definition of lunacy?

Spot on Juddian.

You’ve only need to read Bewick’s comments to understand the mindset of the average Con voter.IE Bewick really believes that she isn’t actually on the same side as the LibDems while she’s pretending the opposite. On that note which part of,she didn’t need to dissolve her government to carry out the so called ‘promise’ of delivering Brexit because that’s why we had a referendum to make the decision not parliament, don’t they understand. While her bs excuses would only be relevant if she was leading a minority government anyway. That’s the smoking gun which proves what a lying bunch of zb’s the Cons really are.Having said that notice how Bewick didn’t answer the question about confirming whether he voted for Heath’s administration. Also bearing in mind that Thatcher also put on a great Euro Sceptic act, while like Heath,Major,Cameron and May,being a committed Europhile.

While whatever anyone says about Corbyn, unlike the Cons,at least he’s totally honest about where he stands and unfortunately for the country much of the electorate will possibly see that and vote accordingly.Leaving us with the no hoper choice of possibly another LibCon coalition or possibly a minority Con government and Lab/Lib/SNP alliance.Or at best May being returned with a remain vote and remain majority predictably followed by her swapping EU for EEA being a formality. In any case we won’t get the Brexit we voted for.Which, together with our non PR electoral system, which doesn’t give the UKIP vote a choice or a democratic voice,is a total corruption of the electoral system.

In addition to the question of what/who has shut Farage up and why would supposed Brexiteers like Bewick see the UKIP vote as a threat and not an ally.

Meanwhile all the signs of the Cons local, economic and foreign policies suggest that they actually want that situation in them trying to commit political suicide with the Green Belt under threat of a LabLib type development policy in their heartlands here and Boris now trying to do a Blair act regards foreign policy in blind support of Erdogan and the Saudi regime.

With no other possible reason, for them to stall Brexit, followed by them then predictably voting themselves out of office, than to hand the so called ‘Brexit’ agenda back to their cross Party remain Europhile cronies. :bulb: :imp:
