Daf won't start. Engine Warning

m1cks:
Our CF’s won’t start if you turn the key quickly.
Don’t have any problems when you turn ignition on and normally wait for the two purges of air (think it’s the ABS system testing <Norb■■?>) always starts without issue if doing this.

Pretty sure our old (59 plate) CFs were like that. As the OP stated, it could catch you out if you were hurrying to get the engine started.

A battery master switch? No, don’t think so. Are you thinking bad contacts causing Voltage drop?

What sometimes happens as when people switched on the battery master switch they then turned the ignition on to start which threw up warning as they never gave the ecu’s time to wake up…It the key chip is ok ,get the code read and go from there

Iirc the quick dirty test to see if it was low fuel pressure in the rail caused by leaking injector was to remove the electrical plug from the high pressure fuel pump this ramped the rail fuel pressure to somewhere near max and if it then started it was onto injector leak off rail flow check.

Im sure if you google ■■■■■■■ ISB engine starting issues there will be a wealth of info out there especially on the yank sites.

Not sure it should in theory but that doesn’t mean it might not in reality.

Yes if you disconnect the m prop valve you do indeed get max fuel pressure ,but you also get a red engine warning ,which the op should remember if he tries it ,as it will log a fault which may lead him down the wrong path…As Own Account Driver points out ,it isn’t always successful…The op really needs to get the code/codes read along with date /time stamps .as the ecu could have 15 fault codes dating back years so dates would really help…Getting the info off the ecu could save a lot of time and effort in the long run …I could go through a hugh check list of low fuel pressure faults but it may have nothing to do with low fuel pressure

So ■■■■■■■ hybrid Common rail dont have a fuel accumulator eh?

No, it has fuel rail that serves as an accumulator that anyone, who knew what they were about, would call a fuel rail.

The ■■■■■■■ of this age also have a low pressure accumulator under the feed pump.
Thought you knew wtf your talkin about daf man?
