cab cooking

Dont Cook, won’t cook is my motto. There are people out there who, for a small fee will prepare, cook and serve food to me. Who am I to deny them the right to work? If I have something wrong with my teeth I pay a dentist, if my car needs servicing I pay a mechanic, if my stomach rumbles I pay a cook. It’s worked so far.

Yep, get yer hands in yer pockets. You tight fisted ■■■■

But whats in this food you buy at the cafe, loads of salt/MSG/fat/sugar/body fluids/snot/hair/skin scrapings/ finger nails ect? Prepare fresh stuff yourself and you know exactly whats gone into it.
No time wasted either, spuds peeled, veg washed and prepped, steak out the fridge and the whole lot cooked and ready in 50km’s…

Don’t care what’s in it Andrew. I’d hate to be lying in a hospital bed dying of nothing!

Not applicable to me mate. I have the sense to have home cooked food and sleep in my own bed at night

That’s, what you you call a cheap and effective way of saving on wages whilst away.

Why, are you dreaming of Australia, it’s nothing special and loads of English are leaving in there droves … I aim to be home in the uk next year after 6 away.

I assure you, you are better off in the UK.

My brother is off to Adelaide this year to work and he raves about it so what’s the problem ?

I can’t speak for SA, but NSW, it rips u a new one. It seriously is overrated 25 years behind and well. I have been 80km outside of Sydney for 5 years … it’s really a poor state … hence my return to the UK.

OP, well I suggest you go if you have family always good to be with close family if you can.

Over the years I have tried everything from having an electric kettle to a propane cooker or microwave oven and a coffee maker, all are messy and a dam pain in the ■■■, the coffee maker leaves a filter part that needs washing out straight away, the bowls and other items such a cutlery need washing up, basically it results in a mess so I have given up. Recently I met up with a mate who never eats in diners of cafe’s but always cooks in the cab, we sat talking in his cab as I we chatted I realized how much of a problem it was, frankly there was not enough room and his bed was covered in plates, bowls and other crap and … The cab smelled of cooking.
It was his choice but I have not the same views on life.

Your mate is a manky creature then.

Spray bottle of degreaser, kitchen roll, boil a bit of water for stubborn bits. Give the inside of the micro a wipe once a week, do the same with the fridge.

No need for piles of plates, I have a bowl, some paper bowl for pasta sauce, a plate, a mug and a pot. Knife, fork, spoon.

It’s not hard to keep a lorry smelling decent either.

We are taking about fat yanks here. They can’t be tidy.

Meatball spagbol is my favourite .

cant beat a good old fashioned Camion Stew. tell ya what though…in summer its great cooking outside…i copied the Ee who cover the sides of the cooker with a cardboard box if its windy…a great idea, i carry too fresh veg like potatoes, onions, carrots,. In Hungary i used buy Bacon in a tin ( wrapped in fat though ) but nowdays with fridges we can buy/carry the real stuff…I dont cook like i used to as i prefer to eat out these days, getting lazy in my old age…i`m not earning to support a large family or pay a mortgage, just pocket money really and a few quid to run my car and my jaunt across europe for my holiday in my place in BG for a couple of months, so i am fortunate in that i can afford to.
