Is that imperial or US gallons?

My average for 1st 6months of the year was 6.72mpg (imperial) I was running the speed limits then (up to 75mph & beyond, tut tut) Now I’ve gradually dropped my cruising speed down to 64mph, in 2mph increments each month, I wasn’t in a hurry on this particular trip so did 60mph & I managed 6.92mpg (US) with the miles we run & current fuel prices that’s worth about $15grand a year, I’ll be buying this shed when my residency is sorted so doubt I’ll be seeing the far side of 60mph anymore when I’m paying the fuel bills

I’m a lttle skeptical of the 10mpg & above claims, are these worked out on miles driven/fuel added or from the dash computers? I haven’t driven any of the Euro4 or 5 motors, but my Euro 3 Stralis used to do 9mpg if I was fairly light & very gentle on the throttle, in an average situation, say loaded to gross 75% of the time I would say that mid to high 8s would be very good, especially with the traffic volumes in the UK, but I stand to be corrected.

what you driving 57 plate Merc Axor 1843 @ 210,000km

Daf 85CF on a 58 artic both boxes and curtains highest trailer is 14’ 11" most are 13’11"
Auto Pi55 poor

50 /50 Empty / 5t Crisps or raw mats can push it to 25t all up
between 12.6 and 13.9mpg on about a 2400kms night trunk with tha odd delivery

man tgx xxl 440 auto 6x2 59 plate
insulated doubledecker (not reefer)
max load weight 15000kg
looking at the floor speaking very quitely 7.79mpg on the up side the 2 drivers that drove it the weekend got it down to 7.75mpg.
in my defence it limited to a true 56mph and over takes “most” trucks on the road and i take in the a34 from m4 to the m40 in rush hour.
