Torque setting

Hi to all. Iv just had fitted a tie bar to my cf85 daf. The 2 bolts snapped not long after being fit. Is this too tight? Iv asked daf they say running it up with gun should be enough. Anybody any idea what torque setting these bolts should be. There 8.8’s thanks for any help
