(Fleet operators) how to go from 1 one truck to multiple?

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering how you go from being an owner operator to a fleet owner of multiple trucks and what the gross profit margin is like per truck.

Also are there any lucrative niches within the haulage industry that may pay a better margin than others.

Thanks for replying!

Generally, the more vehicles you get the lower the gross margin per vehicle. Drivers don’t work like owner drivers, ideally you want a clone of yourself but that’s an ideal.
Yes there are niche markets, and a small operator really has to use these niches as the large operators have the general haulage side of things pretty stitched up.
