Hi, I’m just about to send off my medical & provisonal driving licence forms to the DVLA, I think i’m right in saying from having your medical you have 4 months to send the certificate off to the DVLA before it expires? Also once i get my provisional licence how long does that last for before it expires and also how long does the medical last for on the provisonal licence before you have to get that renewed, This is if i wasn’t to take my test / pass etc

As far as I know there is no time limit on a provisional except for the photograph and medical expiry which will be age 45 or in 5 years - which ever is the longer of the two

That’s right, you would need to send off your provisional within 4 months of your medical (but you may as well do it as soon as possible). And the length of your medical is the same as if it was on a full licence so usually until you’re 45 or every 5 years thereafter, but I would advise checking with DVLA on this as we have seen cases where your medical does not need renewing at 45 depending on when you have renewed your photograph etc.
