note transport manager’s name…Glenn Andrew Marshall…
Canute’s owner is/was Jim Marshall…

Isn’t Canute part of Stobart now,at least the brick and block lorrys out of Purfleet are don’t know about the rest of it.

No. That contract was taken over by Stobart.

Yes but they bought Canute i see Stobart pulling Canute brick and block trailers.

As far as I was aware, Canute lost brick and block contract, and the trailers along with some of the drivers went across to Stobart. Stobart does not own Canute.

Unless you have some form of definitive proof

The trucks that now do the haulage for International Timber look as though they may be Canute vehicles.

Yep, they’re liveried trailers, being pulled by the regular Canute yellow trucks. They have a variety of contracts, and the common element is the tractor unit that pulls them. Tankers, step frames, tippers, curtainsiders, boxes. All those kinds of trailers.

As the end companies move between transport suppliers, the trailers often go along with them. I know some are still marked up, including some of the flatbed that Fagan & Whalley used to operate. As their details are printed under some of those trailers.

At the end of the day, the wheels are still turning, contracts need to be met and operated and product needs to be moved around. If Canute aren’t there, someone else will step in but this is only one small thing about Canute and they way they are restructuring their transport operations…

Guys…

Speculation doesn’t help anybody, so let’s stick to proper facts… preferably with a link to the source.

Thanks!!

proper notice board statement…

proper notice board statement…

Seems proper enough, just cover your own arse with that piece of paper [emoji14]

I worked for Canute over the Winter and as soon as I left and went away on my boat the whole place went ■■■■-up. :stuck_out_tongue:

That would explain why some bods didn’t get their wages last week…and some 3rd party contracts were put “On Stop”.

I hope everything works out, but it would help if Mr Marshall’s secretary used spell-check…

I suppose the “Wilko” contract loss is still being felt, and knowing how banks operate in this day and age, their lender has been absolutely useless regarding the significant loss of turnover…

In response to post 612 re non-payment of wages at Canute last week

Al depots were advised that due to the new wage processing procedure the wages would be going in on the Friday (correct day off payment)
Instead of the Thursday (a day earlier).

People should get there facts correct before posting.

Never let the facts get in the way of giving someone a good pasting… :unamused:

Yep, thats how the banks operate nowadays… :unamused:

Stobbies have been doing all sorts of financing deals and buyouts and transfers over the years, they are still going strong…
why shouldn’t it work for Canute ?
fingers crossed for all the staff.
