W S Tanker Logistics Ltd

I wonder what William Stobart is up to,the above newly formed company has a O license application in for 40 vehs and 60 Trls from a site in Chesterfield,it would appear someone is going to lose big time.

Suttons?

That would explain a lot.

It’ll go the same way as all the other ‘specialised’ and niche markets they’ve tried to bludgeon into. They’ll ■■■■ the job up. Anybody seen any Stobratski car transporters lately? Or a Stobratski box jockski?
And the brick carriers seem to work out well too…

At j29a m1 went past today and thought ’ Oh not noticed them there before’

I see their box jockeys 1-3 times per week on nights in Immingham or the M 180 but it’s quite with them at the moment. I used to see more of them before X-MAS last year.

But surely they could [zb] that tanker job up.

I don’t know how the tanker work is in the UK ? Suttons used to be a great company to work for from the drivers I knew who worked there many years ago. I never even drove a tanker until I came to the states and got this job and to be honest I had no idea how good the work is ? I wish I had found tanker work many years ago, if you get a chance to drive a liquid tanker jump at the chance. Half the work for twice the money

Remember Hopkinson tankers that used to be at junction 29a?

Plain white with red lettering.

Powder tankers not liquid.

Think they got bought out by XPO 12 months ago.

A director called Mark Bingham from Hopkinsons is now a director at w s tanker logistics.

I’ll leave it to you guys to do the maths

Strange that, as a chap with exactly the same name was working for XPO from Hopkinsons then suddenly upsticks and left.
Wonder where he could be working now, Hope he left his customer contact list on his desk when he left

.I wonder were they are getting the funding to justify the requirements of the O License application.

I wonder who will be brave enough to lend this new start company the £7m to fund the purchase of trucks and trailers as well as the cash to cover the running money prior to the first payment from the client.

Do they actually buy anything or just lease it? I think they maybe treading on Lomas Distribution’s toes! I can’t see them taking on the hassle of hazardous chemicals from a standing start! :open_mouth:

There’s always a deal to be done that’s why most of the new scanias you’ll see ( 17/67 ) are the old models not the new models :exclamation:

Lomas trained and started stobratski on tankers a while back, press released it as some kind of partnership thingymabob.

Seen plenty of czech stobarts car transporters this week though.

If you do a companies house search on William Stobart you find that he is a director of 11 different companies of which two are dormant. He is also named on 47 different active Operators Licences plus OC2010070 which is WS Tanker Logistics and under consideration.

One question. How the hell does one man exercise even the minimum amount of control required by law of the director of 11 companies and/or the director of a company holding 48 active or pending operators licences?

I struggle enough with one company, one o-licence and one bloody truck!

Further to the Scania trucks operated by WS and A W Jenkinson it would appear that they will be buying the vehicles as apposed to leasing due to the fact that the two operators have purchased the Widnes truck dealer Smith Bros, presumably they will have gone to Scania for a low purchase price but the sting in the tail is they then have the problem of disposing of the tractors hence the Smith acquisition.

Stobarts have owned the wagons for years. I seem to remember in the one episode of Trucks and Trailers I watched, S02E01 if i recall, William was inspecting the fleet of off-hires at Widnes before the traders came in to bid on purchasing used wagons for best price.

Boredom is a terrible thing.

I see from the Applications & Decisions issued today that Wm Stobart has withdrawn the O license application for 40 trucks,I wonder what the problem is ?

There you are then. You’re trying to do it whilst also driving the truck, he does it full time.
