Route advice

Best or at least legal way to get from Nine Elms to Enfield on 44 ton truck? I do not have much experience in driving in London.

From Nine Elms lane A 3205 head west looking for signs for Chelsea bridge. This will be a right fork into Prince of Wales Drive . This ends in a Roundabout ( Queens Circus) Right is signed Chelsea Bridge (Queenstown rd) go over the bridge and at the far end turn left onto A 3212 Chelsea Embankment. Follow traffic as the main rd swings to the right up Gunter Grove. You will see signs for A4 M4 and A 40. Keep straight ahead staying on A 3220. the road you are on changes name several times You are heading for the A40 so you will cross the A4. You will come to a very large square roundabout (Holland Park r/a). Straight on A 3220 (West Cross Route). At next Roundabout follow A40 WEST. (Oxford). Stay on the
A 40. You are looking for signs for the A 406 North Circular which will be a large intersection (Hanger Lane) at which you must leave the A 40, this will be very busy. You need to be heading to your right onto the North Circular A 406 There is a 15’6" bridge on the A 406 at Neasden. (signed M1 Wembley Ealing) at the Hanger Lane R/a. Stay on the A 406 Nth circ until you reach the A10 Great Cambridge Junction. Exit North circular onto A 10 North signed M25 and Hertford.

This takes you towards Enfield. You need to be very careful in the Enfield area for banned HGV signs.

Are you doing this route today, or seeking advice for Tuesday? If today, you’re in the lbts ban, so you need head back down the A3, then west around the south circ, over Kew bridge then follow the north circ. I wouldn’t follow cavs route today, as it’s the Notting Hill carnival and the area will be a mare.

If it’s a Tuesday run, head for elephant and castle, then follow signs for the A201 Blackfriars bridge, up Faringdon Road and either take the A1 north, or York Way and Camden Road, both get you to Seven Sisters Road. Follow that through to Tottenham Hale, then the A1055 Mollison Avenue through to Enfield.
