Approaching employers

Hi all,

Aside from visa issues, I have a few companies who would like to meet me. I fly over to both US and Canada in a couple of weeks (partner is US cit living in the UK)

I’m interested to hear, other than emailing, what is the best way to approach employers looking for work?

Face to face, pop in the office and ask to speak with to boss. Introduce yourself, hand them a copy of your cv and a personal statement. Tell them your looking for work and would be interested in filling any position they may have. If none ask to be kept in mind should anything arise.

I’m sure you’ve probably done this, but you can google something like “truck driver jobs in Canada” and get online applications.

We had a family of 4 drivers, all of whom we’d trained, who moved to Canada about 5 years ago and have made a great success of it from what I’ve heard.

All the very best with it, Pete
