There used to be a guy that lived opposite us (Chadderton) until the early 80ā€™s, Malcolm Taylor, run his own truck mainly out of Ireland (some tax reason) in Europe,
Heā€™s now in Oz, I am trying to get in contact with him.

Over the last five months i have been busy building a web site about haulage firms from across the North West of England.
Thanks to Truck.net i have made many new contacts, to numerous to mention, who have helped with dates, descriptions, pictureā€™s, locations etc
A special thanks also goes out to to Bubbleman!! Thanks again Marcus
The site now contains over 400 pictures and grows bigger each day with some of the latest images supplied by haulage company ā€˜Austin Wilkinsonā€™.

Also from today the website has a new simpler and easier to remember address northwesttrucks.fotopic.net/

Thanks again to all Truck.net members for your invaluable help

Regards Paul Anderson Northwest Trucks

a depot at Atherton close to their yard. I have trolled through the site looking for any of John Ditchfieldā€™s lorries without success

Hi Paul, I,v found some old pics of Dow Freight , Puma transport and some others but i dont know how to post themā– ā– ?

HI Iā€™ve at last seen a picture of John Killingbeck, Its the one sitting by the heater dose anyone have a better shot of him please.
Next Question HOW many hours did he spend in his garage,ā– ā– ?I should think there was no need for security, He must of been there all the time,
I take my hat of to him. Did he have many people working with him in the workshop.
Well done with the Northwest Truck site
John

John used to work quite late into the evening, but he didnā€™t start until mid-morning. From memory, I think he had a couple of fitters working with him, and they were capable of undertaking quite major rebuilds and modifications.
