Or maybe, just maybe, hear me out on this radical idea…the country isn’t as poor as we are led to believe by successive Tory governments who’s ultimate aim has long been to cut what they can where they can.

We are not poor. We are borrowing at unstainable levels though.

It is nuts. We will be paying this back for the rest of our lives.
I think a 1% increase is fair.

Oh well, so be it. We’d be paying tax anyway so not much changes.

1% fair? I suppose that could be argued in a normal year but after a year when the government have been so inept and ■■■■■■ billions up the wall needlessly I think they have a point. All that clap for carers, all those companies binging up the NHS with sycophantic nonsense with the sole aim of burnishing their public image, all the bandwagons the government have jumped on just turns out to be pointless bull***t when it comes down to it. Like I say if people want to make a difference engage with politics and vote accordingly, standing at your front door tapping a pan with a wooden spoon really isn’t it
