How is class 2 Tipper work?

OP don’t be put off by Carryfast, give things a go and you may or may not get a foot in the door.

I once offered a job to a 21 year old who wrote in on the off chance. Not tippers, but highly specialist Euro work, top payer in my sector, easy work. He turned me down because some days he might have had to drive a van and preferred to stick with supermarkets - can’t win them all.

What Carryfast means by face fits is that exactly. I suspect the Carryfast we know and love here is the same in real life. Which is why it would have been a no thank you from me.

Good luck, besides skills an employer wants someone that won’t upset the customers, won’t cause trouble with the other drivers and basically is pleasant person, it isnt complicated.

Yep just three employers covering virtually all of a 25 year period by being unpleasant to and upsetting everyone who knew me.To the point of switch being upset because my first employer thought enough of me to want to pay for my HGV training after transferring me out of factory work and putting me on the road before I ended up with clinical depression.

Ironically I did think that a negligible minority of my guvnors were more than obnoxious but don’t remember any of them being sacked because of it though.

No what I actually mean by face fits is exactly that.
An industry which thinks nothing of kicking some down the ladder based on the ‘experience’ word. While fast tracking others up it ahead of them on purely abitrary grounds and reasoning.
While telling those who’ve been/are being kicked down it that they need to start at the bottom and work their way up.
I’m not trying to put the OP off at all.I’m doing the total opposite in telling him don’t take no for an answer especially anyone telling him that doing building deliveries of multi drop around the shops will be a guaranteed way of getting a job driving tippers/bulkers or for that matter any type of decent work.
The truth is it’s another relatively coveted sector of the industry, for the reasons which I, among others, have stated.
Which like international work the elites want to keep for themselves and the wording, if not non existence, of the adverts such as I’ve posted and virtual non existence of such work on agencies books proves it.
Feel free to post any which say tippers/roro Bulker drivers wanted new/inexperienced drivers welcome.I’ve obviously backed my claims with facts in that regard.

Relying on adverts is where you fell down sir! I’ve only ever taken one advertised job, The Londoners, ad in The Sun’. The rest is phoning up on off chance, keeping ear to the ground, or, and this will make you go into face fits rant- jobs my Dad was doing. Nolan’s was him, first agency him, second agency I introduced Dad to, both my Brother and Dad worked at Virginia, and now MDS Distribution on milk tankers with Dad. (I can hear the furious typing from here!)
