Talking sense from the driver's seat

I took a bit of a pay cut to come where I am now. As driving jobs go, it suits me. I know others who wouldnt last five minutes at it, but there we go, were all different.
I wouldnt want to go on for one these big companies where you dont have to think for yourself, but are merely a “meat puppet”.
But looking out there, I do wonder what else I would want to do?
Some of it probably is my age, I do remember doing silly hours all over the place, and getting a kick from it. But the world was a different place then, and I was a different person: be sad indeed if I hadnt grown up at all in the past few decades! I would hesitate to recommend this job to anyone today, but then what job would I suggest if asked? This isnt the only job changing.
I think the world is changing with more automation, and there will soon be a change in the social order. Universal Income may well be the way forward. The rich establishment wont be happy about that, but better to go that way than have a violent revolution. This job isnt what it was, but neither is any other.
