David i think i can remember a gadget that was used and maybe someone can confirm, it was a sort of cantilever thing which had thin metal blades each side and could lift 5 or 6 bricks at a time. it was inserted over the bricks and lifted there bye operating the scissor pinch and then swung in the direction of the recipient and the pressure let go thus releasing the clasp on the bricks ready for catching and stacking, does anyone recollect such a piece of equipment, Buzzer

Buzzer,I can recall a set up IIRC called a Stacalift,or something similar that ran on rails on the edges of the flat on a ridged, used to up lift or deliver a lot more than 5 or 6 bricks though,London Brick had quite a few of them.
