PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Tilcon Foden tanker GET 386V was based at Ballidon quarry and driven by Vernon Wibberley. He had his 92nd birthday this month, the youngest of three brothers who all worked at Ballidon for most of their lives. Like me he never got to work his last day there, his was to Presteign, as his load was cancelled alas. Sadly he has had to go into a home as his health isn’t good, Peggy his wife died a few years ago. His oldest lad worked with me in the garage and retired from there a couple of years ago, and his nephews all had a spell at the quarry before buying there own trucks plus his and his brothers wives also worked there! That pic was framed by his son and grandchildren and presented to him when he was 90, his old AEC Mammoth Major tanker from 1964 is still in Rush Green Motors yard. That Foden was the first with the 265 Rolls engine that we had, and it was also the last engine I rebuilt before going driving full time. Yet more useless information from Pete! :unamused:
