Can anyone answer? As I can’t be bothered sticking placards and peeling off paintwork when done… can I use orange boards instead of placards when running under L.Q?

Its the quantity of goods that is the criteria, not the total weight. As Nsmith said, under 8 tonnes is no problem, over 8 tonnes you need LQ placards. And of course the goods have to be packaged in correct LQ manner.
