It all rather depends on what it says in your contract terms (and who your employer is/your arrangement with them).
I have a feeling that if you are working as “self employed” or under your own limited company (or some form of umbrella scheme) then the phrases “■■■■ creek” and “without a paddle” may be appropriate.
