Re: Grassed up....Steve, Dont forget to give us the outcome of the interview w,ill be interesting.
Re: Grassed up....With you on that diesel dog but by reading what the OP has said it the 'meat heid' that's moaned about the aches & pains after the fact.( To management ) He never said anything at the time? Most would 'man up' & do so but obviously just wanted to show his superior strength then moan about it later I push, lift & move stuff on a daily basis that perhaps I shouldn't by myself but I just get on with it. Then again I don't disagree with anyone that wouldn't. Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
Re: Grassed up....You're agency, they can decline your services anytime they like, but all companies are pc now. I suppose it’s a bit late, but all companies have a health and safety mission policy on their website and I’d throw that back at them. Whatever you do, don’t try to argue the issue with what you thought because these people will run rings around you. Throw their H&S policy back at them and put them on the defensive instead. Good luck.

^^^^^^^^^^ fair comment there.. ![]() sweet words butter no parsnips
Re: Grassed up....50Kg in a package 1.80mx50cmx1m is just too awkward for me to pick up, I've not got the arm length, he has.
If it was a 50Kg bag of cement/sand/whatever, depending on how far it's got to be taken, sure, I'd have it on me shoulder no problem. At the end of the day he complained about me refusing to carry the packages. This is not true. Interview was with Agency boss. A bloke who I find is firm but fair. Anything in brackets is me supplying background info. Not sure I should be pasting this, but doing it and asking forgiveness is easier than asking permission ![]() GP (Agency boss) On any occasion, have you ever sat in the cab or even refused to help any crew member deliver any goods. WD (Me) In the strongest possible manner, no, I always help & offer to help whenever possible GP Recently you finished 2 hours late & I spoke to you about this, please can you explain WD The customer ordered 2 miele machines, 3rd floor & 1 to be taken away (Miele washing machines weigh 100.2 Kg). Me & Nick called debrief asking for a bit of help as we knew this would take time, so maybe to take a few jobs off us. There was nobody available, so we carried on. We installed the 2 machines, but the customer had a problem with the wifi (Yes...wifi on a washing machine and tumble drier. The client had no password as it was a building-wide inet, so we couldn't set up the wifi. However, the customer did not want to have to press the OK button twice, to cancel the request for wifi info before starting the drier program, and so he refused to let us leave until we fixed it, this is not in our remit.) which meant we were there for 2.25 hours. We then completed all the other jobs, but obviously finished late. GP Apparently, you refused to help deliver a Trampoline & sat in the cab, please explain WD L***** is a young man who takes pride in his strength, he talks about weight lifting, his prowess & scraps & fights that he says he gets into all the time. I think I’ve worked with L***** 3 times & he talks about this all the time, which doesn’t bother me I just want to work & get on with my job. Arriving at the Trampoline job, I dragged out from the van the 1st of 3 50kg packages & said I’ll get the trolly. L***** immediately replied, no, it’s OK I’ll take it. To which I replied something like you must be mad, but ok. He carried the 1st package across the road to the customer & as he carried this packed, I dragged the 2nd package to the tail lift. I then git the 3rd package, meanwhile L***** had already taken the 2nd package. He then came & took the 3rd package, so I closed the back of the van. As a normal procedure, I went in the cab & set the sat nav up for the next job. GP Was there any discussion about this delivery from either of you WD No, he seemed quite proud of the fact he had carried the 3 packages, but there was no animosity & we carried out the rest of the day in good humour/. GP Were there any other incidents similar to this Trampoline one WD Yes, many – If a package is over 25/30 kg, depending on how far to the customers door, I would always use the trolly. L***** never uses a trolly & states it’s OK, I’ll carry it. WD I have worked here for 6 months & have not been told of any work complaints from Partners or Agency. I like & enjoy the job & strive to do my best & yes, it is hard work. However, I have never refused to carry packages or help my partner in any way. To be honest, I am quite upset by this allegation from L***** & cannot understand how or why it came about & it is totally untrue. However I would like to state that I was told by another colleague, that L***** was really unhappy that he was not driving on this day & during the day made multiple comments about my driving style ----------------------------------------------------- GP Only yesterday I put (Me) forward as one of my drivers to be guaranteed 4 Days work as requested by J****** ******* (Senior bloke) who said yesterday that this was fine. (They're looking ahead towards summer, some drivers have left because of the lack of work so GP was asked to put forward 6 of his most reliable and able guys to be guaranteed 4 days a week from now on so we would stay on. I was lucky enough to be named as one. This was just yesterday before all this [zb] happened.) Just waiting to see if I'm in tomorrow now. Re: Grassed up....2 hours late. [zb] happens. This happens to me 2/3 times a week through no fault of my own.
I cringe when I hear management/ agency/ whoever conducting their selves in this way.Taking the morale high ground. Suppose they've got to investigate complaint though. I'm sure youll be fine. Answered in a good manner & they obviously rate you. Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk Last edited by DF40 on Wed Apr 24, 2019 2:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Grassed up....
It sucks working as an Agency driver, but is also an employee (kinda). They expect all of the rights as an employer but offer little rights to you as an employee. The health and safety defence is a good one. I would say 50kg is a 2 man lift, especially if it's awkward. The fact that he took them and delivered them quickly, without asking or waiting for help from you or the manual handling equipment you said you'd get is telling. I would say you've got nothing to worry about as you've done nothing wrong, but then you are an agency driver, but you seem well liked. Actually, he should be in the firing line for not sticking to the companies manual handling policy. I wouldn't worry about it, but I would definitely be telling your agency you want paying for going into work for your interview (after it's all blown over). You're not an employee, they can't call you to come running whenever they want for free. But you know the parties and companies better than I do, but I would be sending the agency an invoice.

Re: Grassed up....Either way look at it as a win/win.
You're back in tomorrow so no hardship. Or. You're in with another client which you might enjoy more. And if not you can go to another one and another one etc etc.
Re: Grassed up....Not really mate. If I get binned from this job, which I love even though it's proper hard work, I will have been binned on the word of someone else, another agency dude, and the allegations are totally untrue. I want the opportunity to confront the alligators! Oh...wait....no....that's not what I meant
![]() I might just phone up and say "That guy, with the T shirt? Yeah, big fella, that's right. He offered me marijuana. Is this another JL line? Or did he mean another type of line?" Re: Grassed up....
No, what has happened is over the decades many of us have knackered backs that affect us pretty much every day beyond a few aches and pains. Sciatica is a real issue with many older truck drivers after years of handball, humping heavy tarp sheets onto the top of loads, pulling up to 2 tonne pallets off the backs of trailers with a pump truck, jumping off the backs of trailers. Myself personally I've got three knackered discs in my lower back, two have been operated on, the third which happened after is inoperable because of the damage to my spinal chord from the other two and the op I had. If you experienced the level of pain I'm currently going to work with this week I can guarantee you'd not have the clever [zb] attitude you've just posted. Conor.
Agency whore.
Re: Grassed up....And, on a more positive note, I'm in work tomorrow.
Gonna be supervised by a senior JL partner who will give feedback to management as to my work ethic ![]() Oh well, 14.34ph, bring it on, I can most definitely take it. What grips my [zb] is that one bloke can make a complaint, an unfounded complaint, and I get screwed over. [zb] [zb] bolloxing [zb]. Re: Grassed up....
Thanks ![]() Paths cross? well, they will, at the rack full of the days trays full of manifests and [zb],. I am really, truly, not bothered. If, as said before, I'm guaranteed 4 days a week (I don't think this guys name is on the list) I will just get on about my bidness. Re: Grassed up....When I was a skinny 17-year-old, middle-class, wimpy kid, I was expected to handball 50kg bags of Nitram.
I'd say I had to strain every muscle in my body to do it, but I didn't have any muscles! A while back I ordered one of those wheeled tool chests, and a smaller box to sit on top of it. The parcel company classed it as a 2 man consignment. And indeed it was...the big guy carried the wheeled chest and the little guy the box that sits on top of it!
Re: Grassed up....
Yeah but you can also get your point across to the senior partner ![]()
Re: Grassed up....One thing for sure, you'll be in better health and likely live longer than this guy if he's pushing his body like that esp with "substances".
Work ethic is something you show over time not a one off being monitored by a senior person, so it sounds like they are box ticking so they can keep you. Robroy's (un)official stalker and fanbois :)
Re: Grassed up....Let it slip to the senior partner that you saw him taking dianabol (little pink pills. The name is printed on the box, that’s how you know what they were). That should get him out of your way for a good while.
I’m so glad that I don’t work with a drivers mate, like my own company so much better. Last edited by johnteller on Wed Apr 24, 2019 6:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.
