Great post Steve. Makes interesting reading. As far as asking Ian anything that will depend on our paths crossing again, ‘ships that pass in the night’ comes to mind. I hope to see him again but it certainly won’t be before next winter. However, I am fairly sure most of his working life was spent working for companies around Greater Manchester. One thing he did say was that he knew a Dow driver by the name of Mick Downes. Ring any bells?
