Mazzer2:
Looks like this could go on for a long while judging by the comments of one of Macrons MP’s on the Today programme this morning, her first quote was “well it’s only 6 cent a litre” followed up by “If the people knew the good things that this government has done for them then they wouldn’t be protesting”. To sum it up she reckoned the people were misinformed and that Macron was doing plenty of good things for them, and politicians wonder why voters mistrust them.

Typical politician

The government removed the “fortune tax” giving up to the richest percentage of the population a very nice bonus, whilst at the same time - under the cloak of an environment tax - are raising the CSG on pensioners (that’s like Nat. Ins) and putting on the 6 cts - and unsurprisingly replacing the revenues being given back to the rich, so it’s no wonder the misery is continuing and even if the politicos claim it’s not like this, it is the way it’s perceived by workers and us poor drivers.
6 cts a litre is a lot for a big spreadout country where we all rely on diesel cars and do plenty of kilometers. Although the raises in revenue are now not just delayed for 6 months but cancelled altogether i am sure the gov will have to find an other more acceptable way to raise revenue.
There is also a big distrust of the fact that Paye is being brought in from January 2019 which is a big change and something else which
people fear is going to cost them more .
