That’s the real differences in this argument today and now not remain or leave.Independents v Federation as it stands.No surprise that the Federalists are hiding behind the banner of so called ‘remain’ when what they really stand for is a dictatorial Soviet style Europe.All based on the lie that a Confederation of sovereign states with the right to disagree and opt out supposedly holds back everyone else when by definition that’s an oxymoron.IE how does any state or states opting out of a decision to do something or doing something different stop the other states from doing what they want to do ?.
Also have you noticed that in all the futuristic societal story lines like Star Trek the Federal government system is always the good guys not the evil empire.Tht’s the insecurities of the US Federal government system showing its hand because secession is the biggest fear of any Federation whether it’s the US or the Yugoslav one or the Soviet Union.That also explains the real reason why we were forced into a Federal Europe and why we can’t have a Confederal Europe instead.
