EU regs go by hours not days or shifts
Driver has a max of 144 hours between any two weekly rests (24+ hours off in one go = a weekly rest)
If the last weekly rest was at least 45 hours then it may be reduced to a minimum 24 hours starting no later than 4pm Saturday
