Route to lake Garda

ROADRANGER:
Some good pointers, thanks gents.
Something to get our teeth into on the dark winter nights.
Our van has a gvw of 3.8 kg.
Would that make much difference to the Swiss tax?
Bloody he’ll its only Italy, not Doha.

Guess that 3.5kg is a typo, and youre going in a Tonka Toy? Looks like youll be paying extra since you`re above 3,500kg.

“Does my motorhome also need a motorway tax sticker?
Yes. Motorhomes with a total weight of up to 3.5 tonnes require the motorway tax sticker. If the total weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes, the heavy vehicle charge is payable.”
"Payment of the charge/proof of payment
Form 15.91 or form 15.92 (available in German, French and Italian) stamped by the customs office constitutes proof of payment. This can be obtained from a manned border crossing when entering Switzerland. The minimum sum per proof of payment is CHF 25.

The proof of payment must always be carried in the vehicle for control purposes."

Vignette up to 3,500kg, heavy vehicle charge above this.
Unlike heavy goods vehicles, it won`t be on exact mileage and time border to border, you simply pay a lump sum on entry. Reg doc with the GVW marked on it etc. required at border.
The car vignette is 40.CH.Fr (about 35 Eu) and is valid for a year.
So a heavy camper (just over the 3,500kg) getting a ticket for a couple of days could work out cheaper!
Or have I misread all that?
