Reduced rest debate

Alright lads an ladys our gaffa is trying to force our hand into reducing our rest where do i stand in this i have read elsewhere 2 different responses.

  1. Its drivers discretion ONLY if he/she wants to reduce rest

  2. Company can make you do a reduced rest.

We used to get paid to do a reduced rest as an insentive., but now we wont get that so we as drivers have said " ok no more reduced rests"

Company can legally plan reduced rests

Driver can refuse to do reduced rests on safety issues such as not being able to get enough sleep to drive safely
