There will be a minimum term that the data need to be held on the servers as with most documentation in a business. I would imagine it to be most 6 years like a lot of stuff in a business would need keep keeping for. At the very least a minimum of 1 year of saved data.
As said though it can remain on the tacho head and your card for quite some time also.
