I’m progressing to Class 2 (courtesy of my employer)…
When I book my theory test do I need to have my HGV provisional with me to show them or can I do the theory while I’m waiting for the DVLA to process my application for a provisional ?

They’ll need to see your licence on the test day.
In fact when I did mine they were trying to explain to a foreign fella that he couldn’t sit his theory test because he hadn’t brought along his licence.

Provisional will only be online but for some weird reason they want to see the licence which does not have on it anything different than when you sent it to them for the provisional !

Apart from the updated two digit issue number on the licence which will match the issue number on the online database!
