It don’t find it happens that often, but if they’re running nearly at my speed I tend to just sit back and match them for a bit- the next hill or two will either let me past or let them pull away and I can try again later if I catch them up again.
The only time I’ll speed up when being overtaken is if traffic is light and I want a run at the next hill.
