With a lot of help from Brit-Pete I’ve been trying to get relevant info in one place.
If you know of any sites I’ve missed, please post below. I’ll move the URL into here.

Many of these links are to PDF files, to read them you need Adobes Acrobat Reader or similar. Acrobat Reader is a free download, the link takes you directly to the Adobe Acrobat download pages, if you need it.

General Information for European Drivers:-

The D of T’s Drivers Hours and Tachograph Rules for Goods Vehicles in the UK and Europe. This is THE VOSA handbook on drivers hours reg’s (.pdf).
The IRU Code of Practice on Safety of Loads on Vehicles. The European Authorities in particular are tightening up on enforcement of Load Security (.pdf). Don’t forget ;- If you move it, you are responsible for it.

Scandinavia :-
Travel and Transport a general information site for Scandanavia. This site is now out of date but still live, with links to all the info for each country.

Swedens national transport site no longer has anything in English thats of any particular help to visiting truck drivers.

Germany :-
For info’ about the German BAG, site in German.
The Autohof Guide for places to stop in Germany.
This site is in German and only covers the Autohofs just off the Autobahns.
Across the top of the screen there are links.
Strassenkarte links to a map, clicking on an area of the first map brings up a close-up, you can then click on the autohof icon for info about that site.
BAB-Ausfahrten takes you to a list, in Autobahn number/juntion number order.
AutobahnAtlas for all sorts of information about the German road network.

UK HGV Road User Levy from 1 April 2014.

Republic of Ireland :-
NRA for the portal to the National Roads Authority web site. It has links to everything concerning road transport that I could think of, weather affected roads, roadwork’s, tolls, etc.

Switzerland :-

Swiss Customs site portal.

Poland :-
Polish Government pamphlet of info on Polish law, eg, limits and the vignette.

Drogi wojewódzkie 10 ton/oś - Departamental with 10 tons axleweight permitted

South-Eastern Europe :- (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro)
The Trade & Transport Facilitation in South-Eastern Europe site.
Scroll down and click on the country you need then the link for the type of info you want. (This site is in English).
Romanian Road Haulage Union site, with links to quite a bit of useful information. This site is in English, I don’t know about the sites it links to.
Croatia, site from their Motorway company, with info on tolls, a distance/toll calculator entry to exit junction, ENC (their version of a Go-Box for LGVs), weather, etc.

Road Tolls in a variety of types :-
The E.C.G. Site. Scroll to Road Toll Report for the latest report on the various road fees applicable to international transport operators across Europe, a (.pdf) download. (At my last look (27/12/09), the date of the report shown was Aug 2007, but the downloaded report was dated July 2008).

The U.N.E.C.E. Organisation have an info’ site for transport. It’s recently been updated, but finding anything directly useful to us is going to take me some time.
The TRUCKInform site, for a Lorry Parking directory of, they say 2500 sites. That includes service areas and petrol stations with a few truck parking spots, as well as truck stops.
