New drivers 2 year probation period

Sorry this is for the car driving- wonder if anyone can help
Looks like I cocked it all up!!

Wonder if I can get away with this.

I drove in the re-works areas and did not realize that speed limit was 50 and drove down at 60 few times. Got myself two in a row speed offence letters from the police which at present are merely to acknowledge if I was the driver. I assume in the near future, I will receive the speed penalty letters.

Now my situation is - passed driving lesson less than two years ago, already had attended speed awareness course so not entitled for it- drive for living - know for sure that will lose my job with no valid license :frowning:

Will my license be provoked for sure? Any way I can avoid this?

“It’s never to early to call your solicitor”. Find one specialising in road traffic law.

When you say “two in a row”, is that same place, same day, same time or not?

If you get or take six points, then it’s game over. It might be a option to go looking to see if you can get a short ban instead as a ban doesn’t rack up points.

A solicitor might cost a few quid, but it might be more economical than ending up on the rock ‘n’ roll.

Revoked Austin, not provoked. That aside it’s not looking too good is it? You’ve already had a speed awareness course but it’s not really sinking in to your mind is it? You say you drive for a living yet you apparently risk your licence at every opportunity you get. Perhaps some time spent walking about may focus your mind and maybe save some lives in the future!

Right, that’s the finger wagging over  , we were all young and stupid once fella, and maybe we got away with stuff we shouldn’t have got away with. My advice to you would be to get yourself a good brief. The offence is absolute so you ARE going to be punished, but a decent brief will highlight to the bench your remorse, the fact that this is the wake up call that is going to reform your character, and loss of licence will cause undue financial hardship to you and yours.

Good luck anyway.

just get your other half to take the points ■■? politicians do it all the time lol…no but on a serious note my lad just passed is test and they want best part of £3000 to insure him ? “but why is it so high” he asked because when you do get on the road you will drive like a ■■■■ and properbly end up killing someone and aint that a fact …ive no sympathy and its the only way you,ll learn ? so stop crying and take whats due and when you get your licence back maybe you will have learned something…

I am sure if you get six points within two years of passing your driving test you have to re-take your test.

if your getting done for 2 back to back, then why dont you ask what 1 they want you to pay…tell them you were only speeding the once, and you didnt slow down between cameras, that has to be worth the argument if only to hear the reply? …or…apply for a duplicate licence saying youve lost your original.then youve got 1 to hand back, and 1 for emergencies if you wanted to drive abroad,or on holiday etc on the qt…hightly illegal, but arnt we all?? theres also a way to have yourself a eu licence alongside your uk one for similar reasons if your sharp enough… .

mfm is correct but if you opt to go to court then you might be lucky to get a sympathetic magistrate

I do not know if the court will also know about your speed awareness course but if they do then its not going to look too good

I suspect that this will end up with you doing all the theory and test again because I reckon if the court does know everything then they are likely to see that you have done the same offense 3 times so are likely to take the view that you are not learning and a harsher penalty is needed - just my personal opinion

i wouldn’t bother with a solicitor.
they are expensive, and you`re gonna need all the money you can get hold of when you eventually gey your liscence back

CORRECT.

the maoster and sweeper1gg,

You’re both missing the point and casting a stereotype here.

He cleary ■■■■■■ up once and learnt his lesson.

If you bothered to read the original post properly, you’ll see that the pending convictions currently being discussed are a result of not realising what the temporary speed limit was. Ignorance isn’t an excuse, and finger wagging is certainly in order. What is OUT of order is your saying ‘young and stupid’, ‘not sinking into your mind’, ‘risking your licence at every opportunity’. Jeez give the guy a break!

P.s. he might be 50 for all you know, another assumption you’ve made

Really? Let’s wait and see shall we?

I think it may rather be easier to plead guilty and re-do the tests. So i believe I am not eligible to take the theory test before hearing the provocation from DVLA? Once I get the provisional, can I drive mo-ped? Can I drive 600CC or there is a definition for mo-ped?

This has got to be a wind-up!

sorry revocation :frowning:

Maybe learn to read & write in English & then you’ll find being an internet troll so much easier !!

This happened to me about 10 years ago, I got 6 points in my first two years driving and had my licence revoked.

Assuming nothings changed, all you need to do is to re-sit your driving test, If you say you passed your test less than two years ago then your theory certificate may still be valid. Take your licence to the plod station and get straight on the blower to a local driving instructor, get it passed again and voila!

When it happened to me I carried on driving, got caught again and got a further 6 points for no insurance/licence/MOT/Tax along with some hefty fines. I ended up not driving for a good few years. DON’T GO DOWN THIS ROUTE.

Remember, a licence revocation DOESN’T show up on your licence and DOESN’T go down as a ban so insurance need not know. They will however be very interested in the 6 points you have.

And try and learn your lesson this time :unamused:

The OP is not a troll because he has posted the same on an ADI forum = very sensible place to ask because many of the ADIs on there have come across this issue loads of times

I am sure if you get six points within two years of passing your driving test you have to re-take your test.

correct it is a retest if within two years

Sorry but I reckon your stuffed to be honest. Please before you retake your test learn to read them big circular signs at roadworks that say 50.
This is going be a very expensive lesson for you, the cost of the retest, the fines for the speeding offences, wont be small fines as youve already attended an awareness course, so you will be seen as a habitual offender. Then the real biggy, insurance, when you eventually get your licence back expect to be absolutely hammered.
Good luck aswell trying to find a driving job, most companies will not entertain you with that sort of driving record.

Well if not a troll, in my opinion does not deserve to hold licence let alone a driving job. He’s already sat a speed awareness course & now has lost the ability to read a ‘big red 50’ sign !!

Would almost guarantee 100% that it’s this kind of idiot who will end up driving with no insurance & mot because they can’t afford it!!

Should be a straight forward ban when it’s obvious the driver has no respect for speed.
